Mum and Dad are getting really frustrated so I need some advice on how best to approach it!!

Their neighbour got a new pup a few months back, he is Chow x Belium shepherd x Husky so my guess would make it a very active and potentially noisy mutt!

Now Mum and Dad don't have a dog but like them so they aren't just being grumpy old gits..!!

They only ever see the guy walking it on a lead for about 10 mins twice a day and the only time they see him in the garden the dog is on a lead.

The dog is barking a lot and they are in a semi detached house so it goes straight through the walls! It is really getting to them now. It barks day and night late and early when they are there (If they are out it is quiet!) so they get yapping and barking then the neighbours just shouting at it to shut up and lie down!! I reckon it must be at least 6month old now if not a bit more. Mum reckons the poor dog is just under exercised and probably barking cos it want to go out!!

The neighbours are funny people not very friendly or chatty and have always been like that in the 4 year they have lived there..

I told mum she ought to try to speak to them but not tell them what to do and lecture them (Which she can do sometimes and is very annoying!!) But she should just mention it or if she can't do that to just write a note saying about the noise.

She really doesn't want to upset them as she doesn't like doing that also Mum and Dad's house is at the end of the cul de sac so it could be very awkward if they fell out with the neighbours.. they have been in the house for 30+ years and always got on well with everyone.

When I was living there my GSD x was there with me and he was very good only barked very occassionally when he heard something outside at night in which case one of us would get straight up and check it out and quieten him up. Also used to bark occassionally when let out at night but again whe used to tell him off when he did so it wasn't like he was barking for an period of time!!

HELP!!

If there are other neighbours around, I would put an anonymous note through the door, then they would never be certain it came from your parents. We had a problem with a neighbours four unruly GSDs barking ALL day whe they were out, we went to the council in the end who wrote them a letter, I don't know what it said but the dogs stopped barking!!

Not much help I'm afraid, just to say I've been there and it is really frsutrating!
