Advice please! Spayed bitch and neutered dog being"naughty"!

I had my bitch spayed last year. My dog was neutered about three years ago but had retained testicles so not an easy op! Now my dog is trying to mate my bitch!

This may sound funny but my bitch is a 8 yr old mastiff and having 10 stone of "boy mastiff" on you is not good!

Im suspecting my bitch could have another vaginal polyp (she had one removed in March) but horse vet(out on Tuesday so passed it by him- like you do)-thought this unlikely. I will take her to vet for a check but could it be something else? Im a bit puzzled and not sure how worried I should be, if you understand?

I think I will ring a vet tomorrow to see which dog should go for a check! Just not sure really as its difficult to take both at the same time due to their size!!!

Perhaps Ive just answered my own question!LOL

In some instances, some neutered dogs will sill try their luck

Could their be a bitch near by in season...in your neighbourhood, next door, afew doors away, e,t,c...that could have set him off.
I would also get her checked re-your suspision of a polyp, cist, growth, or even urine infection , which may lead her to leak fluid, he would beable to smell this, esp if she herself had been licking around the area previous.....I would get her checked and maybe look into methods of detering him, if she gets the all clear.

Thanks for that. There is a bitch next door but as far as I am aware she is also spayed.

The last time this happened she had the polyp but I wonder whether it could be something else bearing in mind her age and breed. Possibly cystitis as she has always suffered a bit from this when she was in season or something similar. Your suggestions made me think of this so thanks! The only thing is she normally wees a lot when she has cystitis and thats not obviously happening.

I just feel very sorry for her really!! Trojan is a big bouncy boy/thug and she is an elderly lady!!!
