advice please

hi can anyone help i have a grey mare who i decided to put in foal this year she has never had any lumps under her tail before this but a week after she had been covered she started with a large lump on her dock they then came up under her tail rang the vet straight away they came out said oh she's a grey had a quick look said there's no problem and left now 2 weeks later they have now started lower down vet coming later just wondered if any 1 else has had this and does anyone think it could have anything to do with her being in foal thanks

Melanomas?? - though i would have thought they take longer to appear??

Sounds like melanomas to me to, if so they are quite common and in greys are nothing particular to worry about.

It does sound like melanomas to me. If they're coming up that quickly I'd call the vet & ask him to come back for another look.

Was the stallion from a reputable breeding place? I'm just wondering about a herpes infection or other infection from the covering?
