Went up to the farm yesterday and noticed my connemara has a little fluid build up on his legs. Just slight jelly lumps around his hocks. It is on all 4 legs but more pronounced on his back legs. He is turned out full time on good grass and gets ridden everyday. What is is and should i call the vet???

Thanks in advance

is there any heat, swelling or pain? TBH i would be inclined to wash his legs off, check carefully for wounds (admittedly unlikely as all four legs) keep him in but walk him round regularly and monitor it. but maybe you could ring and speak to vet over the phone- see if he thinks its worth coming out?

No theres no heat and when iv been touching/squeezing the area where the fluid is he doesnt bat an eyelid. He seems his normal self and there definatley isnt any wounds. I just can't understand it as he hasnt been stood in. Thanks i think i will give my vet a ring and out my mind at rest! Hopefully im worrying about nothing!
