Advice please...

I loaned first so that I knew it was what I definately wanted and was an affordable option for me.

It took months to find my boy so be prepared to be patient! I took someone with more experience with me to check him out as well.

i wanted a horse both me and my 12 yr old daughter could share - my daughters a skinny winny - im not lol
we bought a 14.3 cob last year -
he was the first horse i saw when we started our search to buy - his eyes got me - he had beautiful kind eyes.
When my daughter hacked him put on that fist meeting, with his owner, she rode him down a busy main road passed by lorries, motorbikes etc - he didnt blink
we walked through woods, met lots of people, loose dogs - again not a flinch
I just knew he was for us and fell instangtly in love - bought him there and then

Although - its not a perfect ending - as a novice i took noone with me, i now know he was so good because his owner walked alongside us at his head
He is headstrogn and bolshy - spooks when ridden alone and is very strong and nappy
He scared my daughter - so i had lessons and was determined to overcome these problems - thanks to a fab instructor he is changing.
Please take an experienced person with you and dont let yur heart rule your head - though i love my boy to bits and would never ever part with him - we have had to put in the sweat and tears to be able to keep him xxxx

As the post above says, take someone knowledgeable and experienced with you, preferably someone who knows how you ride. It would be worth paying for this service, if you could take your instructor. I've seen many overhorsed people who are scared of what they've bought and just end up having a miserable time.
