A pony i used ride which is my friends, has started to be really naughty, i don't know if he is going through the rebellious 5 year old age or what, but he's coming dangerous when riding. He's had his back and teeth done, he's like it riding bareback or in tack, or whether hes ridden daily or not for a month.
He's a 13hh PB Welsh Gelding

Any advice?

Perhaps you can post a few more details about what the pony is doing (bucking/spooking/rushing/planting) that is 'naughty'?

Would say though that for anything which might have a physical cause (well, that covers most unexplained behaviors really) a vet visit is a good idea... just seen a pony I know be diagnosed with major issues after months of being told he was 'naughty' when bucking. Trainers etc missed it but the vet found it out in a single visit.

Hes been bronking, spooking, rearing, leaping, bucking etc. Last time I rode him I nearly ended up in a car, i ended up in a hedge and a garden, but before he was fine with all traffic but tractors. I'll let his owner know what you said. Thanks xx

On the ground and on the lunge hes fine, hes better behaved bareback and in the field then he is out on the roads, i really dont know how to explain it, shes gunna get the vet out to see. We dont know if its because of lack of a permanent jockey since i moved away. I really don't know, he's such a good talented pony, we need to get to the bottom of it. x

Hmmm, if the vet gives him the ok, perhaps ask an instructor to see if they can help. Nip it in the bud so to speak. Hope you get to the bottom of it :)

have you checked his eye sight? I mean vet job for real, but you can give it a go by moving your finger toward his eye (making sure you don't disturb the whiskers which warn him!) and see if he blinks.
Sudden spookiness and unexplained fear can be vision related?
