Advice please.

DofftheDerby, i've had 2 in the past from Vere Phillipps, both cracking horses, both everything he said they'd be. but the last time i talked to him, he implied that anything decent would be £15k ish, and i haven't got that to spend, unfortunately. he has lovely horses though and i would recommend him to anyone with deep enough pockets!

Facts are that he failed both vets and neither could give a good reason why, which would worry me. I would deffo walk away, in the time you spend looking for the 'perfect' horse or competing this horse for him to go lame again you could invest some money in a younger horse and turn a profit, then you may have the extra cash to up your budget.
Why not just have a look at a couple of youngsters just in case you find a bargain. I would be straight off to see the Llangarth stud, with Darcy at the Europeans they will be skyrocketing in price & they usually have a field full of lovely youngsters.....
(I am fantasising here about what I would do in your position....
