Hi everyone just after some advice for my little mare.

Bramble is my 11.2 section A - i've owned her for two and a half years and can't bring myself to sell her. Initially I brought her to show however she isn't going to be good enough (as awful as it sounds) and I have another Section A to show.
She is as safe as houses - is broken to ride and drive all of which I did myself - she really is phenomonal and can be trusted to do everything with the smallest child. She is a snaffle mouth and isn't the slightest bit strong but isn't a kick a long either she is light and responsive off the leg.
I don't have a jockey to ride her and she is being well and truly wasted. A little girl comes and rides her but it is literally walk and trot and I would quite like the pony to enjoy her work and not become sour.
But heres the catch - she's 4. People sound very interested in her until they hear her age and then they back off like the plague.
She hasn't been jumped yet as I felt she was too young and have had no intention of rushing her education but plan to get YO to get her popping a little fence around the end of summer. She has been cantered both in the large menage and out in the open and she pulls up instantly. She is a safe pony although I feel she would suit a child who knows how to ride simply because I want her to learn just as much as the child and I don't want such a safe super pony ruined.
I have no issues if I couldn't loan her out - I have the time and money to keep her along with my other two but feel she is being wasted.
Am I asking the impossible and should I take the bull by the horns and advertise her for loan or should I look at that in a years time? I'm really not sure what I should be doing!

Thanks for any advice

If she was mine, I would look for a loaner now but I'd want her to stay on the same yard. If it doesn't happen, you haven't really lost anything (hopefully you wont get any idiots ringing up) except the cost of the advert and some time. :)

Faracat i'm quite happy for her to stay at the yard but equally happy for her to go within visiting distance like the same county or something so I can keep an eye on her from time to time! YO has mentioned her to people who are looking and it's just her age that holds her back. Yard owners both reckon she isn't right and has been here in a previous life - she is just so trusting and caring!

I think I would keep her on a yard where the loanees can be kept an eye on and helped.

If a kiddies parents dont know what they are doing it would be a shame to ruin a good pony. But its good for them to learn with professional help at hand if they need it. I also think its good for the children to be on a yard seeing what goes on and learning etc. And having some lessons on your pony too. ie a yard that does pony club??

Sounds like a very nice little pony

Thanks everyone - I am really wary of inexperienced people - the little girl that piddles about with her is very inexperienced and her dad made out he was experienced but the first time he put the bridle on I almost had a heart attack - poor pony! A pony club orientated home would suit her down to the ground, she loves her work and would excel at pony club games.
All really useful advice thanks

Sounds like you would be best off contacting your local pony club , they have a really good network and usually know who is looking. This would save you the trouble of weeding out all the time wasters and dreamers that would call if you just put out adverts.

My daughter rides in the North Shropshire Pony Club. I know of someone looking for a pony for their son who may be interested. We could always post an advert on our Pony club website for you. People are always on the look out. Members tend to live around Walford/Prescott/Baschurch/Whitchurch/Wem. Pm me if you would like me to ask around.
