Well my new clippers came today and they are a lot louder than i thought they would be!!

I am now panicing about my horse being a complete pansey and not liking them!

In your experiences what is the best way to get him used to them so i dont get killed when i am trying to clip him? =D

Thanks

If you are calm and confident then you have a much higher chance of him being chilled with them. If you walk in with them like they are about to kill you both then he will know!!
I would just go in and start them up like they are totally normal and just carry on as normal. If he is a little unsure then talk calmly to him and carry on. If he does have a big stress with them then see if someone can hold him and chat to him or feed him pony nuts for treats to calm him, or you could run the radio at the same time - maybe it would help make the clipper sound not as noticeable.
I'm sure he will be fine, I always stress about ours and the horses don't even notice the noise!
Adjust them correctly, take regular breaks to oil and allow the blades to cool and you should be just fine.

Year s ago I used to have a small device that plugged between the clippers and the mains that meant you could quieten the clippers to different degrees - genius piece of equipment but no idea where you would get one now.

I tend to plug them in and switch them on quite a distance from mine when doing first clip, just gives them few minutes to get used to the noise and gradually move closer before starting.
