advice req from Appaloosa owners plz!

hello all!

i am new to the breed and was hoping to get some tips from people in the know!

i see that some plait/some dont for showing, is either more acceptable or is it more about preference?

I've never palitted mine, bit then she has vertually no mane. Just a few hairs, bless!

According to the British Appaloosa society they should be plaited if the class requires it, and the mane and/or tail are plaitable.

I don't 0plait mine as her mane is very fragile (although looks quite good) and I don't want to break it.

I think either is fine, a lot of people can't really plait as one of the breed's characteristic is to generally either have a sparse mane or sparse tail.

thanks to all, yeh her mum is quite sparse (not sure about daddy!). will just have to see how her mane/tail comes in
