Advice Required

Hello All, this is my first post on the Forum! But ive been reading all the posts for the past couple of weeks at work - makes good reading!!

Anyways i need you advice on a situation. I started riding a horse about a year and a half ago for a lady. Back ground on the horse, when i started riding him he hadnt done very much and now he is doing XC, jumpx and BSJA (currently discovery and newcomers)

Anyhoo recently the owner doesnt seem so interested in taking him to shows, the deal at the start was i would ride him but he would not be on loan or be sold - which suited me at the time. However now i feel like she isnt taking that much of a role in his improvement.

So i just wanted some advice on how to broach the subject of loaning him and started to take him to shows myself?

oooo its quite tricky cause u don't wanna offend, just say have u ever thought of loaning him out?? as like a convo starter???

Welcome to the forum!

Maybe you could try dropping into conversation that you really like the idea of going out competing and see what the owner says? Or maybe ask the owner when she is next going out competing - as in drop hints that you have noticed that she isn't doing as much and that you would like to take over the reins as it were (excuse the pun!!)
