Hi, I recently purchased a saddle on eBay and it has a wide tree. However, it has obviously undergone some alteration to be made narrower. Firstly it looks to have been flocked to the max! Secondly, I noticed that there are a row of stitch holes on both sides of the saddle, running along the panels, just below the stitching that attaches the panels to the seat. I am guessing that the holes are where the panels were originally stitched to the seat and it looks as though the panels have been 'let out' and restitched, to, I guess, accommodate extra flocking.
Firstly, could someone advise me as to whether this is a known practise? Secondly, would the saddle be able to be restored to its original state, using the original stitch holes that look in good order? Many thanks in advance for any advice!
