Shes scared me Sh*tless today!
Theres definatly a very very fine line between excitement and panic

So shes going to stay in a strict routine (Vet thinks her not going out this morn because of weather and my fencing was on the floor was the cause)

And he suggested ..
Non edible bedding
Bran
Soaked hay

Which im happy to do but is there anything else i can do to stop the stressing?
I dont want a repeat of today

Strict routines can be a godsend or a nightmare depending on your horse. We deliberately don't have our horses in a strict routine so that they don't start stressing if something major happens outside of our control and alter timings etc.

Could she have some stable toys and maybe one of the treat balls to keep her occupied. A swede on a string, that sort of thing.

Can she see other horses at all times. And could she maybe live out 24/7 instead so you don't have the added worry of being late getting there. I know that isn't always practical depending on how your land drains, would your yard owner be happy with that and so on.

Sounds like a very traumatic time for both of you, hope she is absolutely fine now.

I've had to change my routine too this week too due to a bout of colic ! Mine was due to the frost so she's not living out now and seems much happier (was especially happy to come in last night !!)

She will not eat soaked hay so I've just been damping it and wheat straw does the trick too as she doesn't eat that. Or you could try easy bed thats rape straw. All changes of routine can be difficult to adjust to - I've found it harder than her.

I hope shes ok - my vet suggested epsom salts in her tea if her poos were very firm
