I am looking to reseed two acres of pasture with a mixture of grasses and herbs.
My soil is clay based.
I have been told that I will have to remove the weeds by hand if i don't want to use chemicals.
Are there any weeds that are good to leave in? Is there anything i could use to get rid of the weeds thats not too harmful?

Also what herbs should i include?
Any other advice greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

You may find this interesting reading, there is a long list of beneficial herbage and 'weeds' here.

Removal of weeds: You can either dig up, bag up and burn before they go to seed, or you can simply keep the non-toxic ones in check by topping them so that they don't go to seed.

I would definitely include oats and sunflowers in your planting regime. I throw them about like confetti, the horses pick as they wish and they LOVE every single part of sunflowers.
