Okay, advice please.
Couple months ago, the stables where I keep my horse asked me if I could work for them on Sundays. all day, mucking out, general yard duties and a bit of help with the lessons. I could do with the extra money so thought it would be great as i get on with everyone and i really like spending time up there.
So I had a formal interview and what not and all was sorted and i was told the hourly rate etc.
on my first day there I asked if they needed my bank details and they brushed it off, the same the next day and whenever i text it was always 'we'll sort it tomorow'
cut a long story short, i've now worked a fair bit and they owe me what i consider a fair amount of money. I always pay my livery bills on time and i think it's cheeky that they've not paid me....No? I've text and asked a hundred times but nothing. it's always pushed to the side or 'yea yea, we'll sort it"
On saturday i was told i oweed £27 for when my horse had the farrier, and when i said i'd pay at the end of the month with my normal livery bill i was told, VERY sternly that I would do no such thing and would pay immediately. And so i did.
This week it was the final straw as I was told to go up the yard at 7 last Tuesday to arrange being paid and when I arrived was told the person who does this, was on holiday. FFS, it was honestly starting to take the piss.
So finally tonight i text the 'manager' and said that I would like to be paid please. text my account details over. and they've said I must go to their head office before 4. Now, I work until 6 in the evenings so it;s a bit impossible for me to do this and i think it's a bit cheeky that I've had to chase this up? he was SO rude saying that all staff must do this and it's not his job to remind staff to tell him to be paid.
ARGH. It's an EMPLOYERS responsibility to ensure their staff get paid NO?
Now I'm panicking cos I keep my horse there and they've accused me off argueing with them about 'a pesky 3 days pay'
Sorry about the rant but I'm sooooo annoyed!!!
