Can somebody please give me advice on if I look to big for this pony. Hes 12.2hh and i'm about five foot 3 maybe 4. I've had a few nasty comments telling me its animal cruelty for me to be on him he never seems unhappy with me riding him and i'm pretty sure if horses/ponies think you're to big they find a way to tell you they're uncomfortable. I know preferably he should be ridden by children etc but he isn't because with riders that don't tell him what to do and that he knows are nervous he's naughty, bucks etc, does anything to get them off because he can.

I wouldn't ride him if I didn't have too, but they asked me too so that he doesn't just stand in a field all day as hes only eight, they won't sell him because they've had him for years.

Please nothing too nasty, i'm just genuinely looking for some advice.

If so you look absolutely fine, with the amount of ponies around it makes sense that some will be ridden by adults, its just seems so common nowadays for people to move on to horses. When I was a youngster people had no issues riding ponies its just less common now

As long as you arent too heavy (and if thats you then you look fine) it doesnt matter

You dont look too big at all, 5'3 isn't that tall and your slim. Ignore them and have fun

if your the slim one I wouldn't worry. I was able to ride 12.2hh at 22 years old. bit too heavy now lol
