Hello i am new to this site and i was hoping some of you could give me some advise on

Kissing Spine
Feet problems - backward rotation, which has caused damage to the pedal bone. (back feet)

The reason i ask is i have just found out my mare has both of these problems.

So if any of you have had (or know any one who has) these problems what treatment did you have and what was the outcome and how is the horse now?

Just totaly at a loss of what the future holds for her, and i just feel that i have let her down with her feet.
She never had good feet when i got her and they have improved slightly, but i just trusted my farrier, when he wasn't actually doing a lot to correct her low heals.

The vets are using their farrier to get her started and then i will be finding a new farrier.

xx

Your vet and their farrier will be doing what is best for her. ask also if the vet can recommend a good farrier in your area to continue treatment.
It sounds also like the kissing spine may have been a knock on effect from the imbalance of feet. Get the feet sorted first then dependeing on the severity of the kissing spine a good training regime to build topline may help. Others have had to have the spines worked on through surgery, they will give you more info on this.
Sorry to hear your horse is in a bad way and hope all works out in the end.
Best wishes
Dawn
