Sundown in Norfolk use Oil seed rape stems for making horse bedding and yes lakeside horses eat their bed too. Rape will be high in iron but watch the laminitus issue. your horse can eat its greens, your horse may find it bitter and leave it along. Cut it and allow to dry this may be more palitable for your horse.
