I have recently got a Bates VSD saddle, it's only 1 year old and hardly used. My horse is around a med narrow. First I tried the medium plate that it come with. This went down way to low whilst mounted. I then changed the gullet for a med - narrow which i though would solve the problem and that also is sitting too low whilst mounted. However I have also got a narrow plate in my collection lol. It is usual to go a bit narrower whilst on Cair ? Surely a new Cair saddle doesnt need extra Cair packing.
