i am soon to be purchasing a 3.5t horsebox. any advise as to what to have and what not to have with the build? i already know i want a jockey door in to the grooms area and reversing/horse area camera.
What about the sloping wall? it looks very high in the pics i have seen? Would it be too high for a pony?

You will definitely need the bulkhead between the horse area & the drivers cab reinforced. This will keep whoever is in the cab safe & also the horse. Some lorries have the sloping wall & others don't. It will be up to you when you examine a potential purchase to decide if you want it or not. Try to ensure that the lorry has plenty of kitting out of a living area. I know someone who had a Boss 3.5 ton horsebox kitted out with loads of extras, fridge etc & the pay load was reduced to about 600 kilos which is too low when you take into account driver & passengers, kit, fuel etc. Have a professional come & check out the vehicle if you are interested in one. It may look really smart but there are loads of things to check like chassis, floor, cam belt etc. Don't go for a really old one, they were originally work vans & they are hammered so beware.
