I thought i would combine two things into one post.
Firstly have got the farrier coming on the 22nd of this month. I have a horse trial on the 24th of the next month so im questioning over having stud holes put in. The only reason i would have them put in is becasue the weather is so unpredictable at the moment i dont want to end up having a horse on the day who is sliding all over the place. But im not really sure. As i havnt got another event actual booked until early october and by that time he will have been shod again so im not sure what to do on the stud/shoeing side of things. . .any opinions would be great.
On to the spurs. I have got this horse trial in august and i have just realised i cant take a whip in so. . .my first thought was spurs. . .? I am not going to say i have ridden in them before as i havnt but if i used them i would have some lessons in them. But i dont want to use them for the wrong reason.
On the run up to the trial i have got plenty of little local shows to go to which i can try them out and basically see how he might go in them aswell as schooling at home. . but this is something im not sure on so i was just wondering what people thought would be a good thing to do. Would it be an idea just to buy a pair and have some lessons and see what happens. . ?
Thanks
