my golden retriver is nearly 12 and ive just found out he has arthritis the vet has gave him medicine but is there any good supplements i can give him as well?
xx
What did your vet give him? Normally things which contain glucosamine and chondrotin are good for arthritic conditions, but depends what the vet has given him - you need to make sure that they dont 'clash'
My RR has arthritis and she gets a Glycoflex supplement daily and is on a course of Cartrophen. My old Rotty also had it and she was on Metacam and something else but for the life of me I can't remember what is was called!!
he was given metacam i managed to find treats that had glucosamine in them but i was thinkin of more like a supplement what is syniquin and where do i get it?

I prefer acupuncture, 4 to 10 times with a week or two in between. For my three dogs and one cat, the effect has lasted about a year.
Only used glucosamine and green lipped mussel from New Zealand supplements, when I couldn't start a new round of treatments, when I wanted to (the physiotherapist was fully booked).
Massage before a walk or stretching after a walk, now and then, every two to every day, should also help him to maintain his muscle strength. Especially when he gets older.
