Easiest from your vets as is POM (prescription only medication), so will need to go to vets for a prescription even if you want to buy online.
 
Animed Direct is the best price I found, for the XL 6 pack anyway. Otherwise try VetUk, Viovet and Chemist Direct, they're a few I've used in the past.
Remember that any place selling it without requiring a prescription may not be operating legally, or you may be toeing the line by 'importing' a POM if you buy from a non-UK country that offers POM without prescription. Not only that but there's a few companies (or the same company renaming itself as its reputation spreads) that are supplying counterfeit medications - these may not only be ineffective but possibly even dangerous to your pet. I've heard of some of these non-UK countries never actually providing the product and then being impossible to contact as the telephone numbers don't connect, the fax doesn't exist and the emails bounce back - hard to trace down when they're not based in the UK.
A vet is obliged to provide a prescription when requested - they can only refuse on health grounds, in which case they should refuse to sell the product to you too. They can charge a reasonable fee but this must not be excessively high - I think the RVCS word it as "not so high that it discourages customers". Mine have charged about £6.50 in the past, though it's recently increased, but still saves me money to get the prescription and buy online compared to buying direct. They either do a free 'prescription consult' to check the dog is in good health, or will issue a prescription as long as they've seen the dog within 6 months (and know that it is in good health) so it's not too much hassle.
 
Hyperdrug are excellent. Pay £10 prescription from vet as they can't match the price which I find ridiculous. They need a new supplier! I wouldn't mind paying more for up to 3 dogs or so but when you have double figures you have to shop about! I've used others but always gone back to Hyperdrug as they are very quick and very reliable (I've had issues with other suppliers before). I get my Horse wormer at the same time :-)
 
I imagine there's more to it than just the supplier they use. It's a bit like your local corner shop trying to compete with Tesco and the like - they just don't have the bulk buying power. Plus online shops can lower their overheads by using warehouse type storage, don't need to maintain a shop front, can rent cheaper premises in a more out-of-town location and so on. Also many medication has an expiry date so it's not just a case of having the storage to bulk buy, but also the customer base and demand to get through the products before their use by dates.

^^^ this. Vets just do not have the buying power of the online stores. In this day and age the bulk buyers hold all the strings, which is why the smaller stores are going out of business. I work in a clothing shop, one of the large chains is selling mens trousers at a lower price than we can buy them in - crazy, and so unfair on the independents.
