Interesting... well No.16 is anyway!! Because he failed the recent SHB(GB) Stallion Grading (well he had to be pulled because he was found to be unsound in the ridden section) I am sure he has had his name changed too, wasn't he MFSS Zigeunerknabe a few weeks ago!

can you find out how they were bred on the AES?I know one is Shirley Lights And im guessing the Darco dream is by Darco but would like to have a nose at the lines

From www.angloeuropeanstudbook.info:

STALLION GRADING LEVELS

Stallions are graded at 4 different levels depending on age, ability, competition level, offspring production and offspring competition levels. Entry into a grading show does not automatically ensure that a stallion is graded even at a basic level.

Registered This is the basic level of grading and normally young stallions attending their first grading would enter at this level if graded. Registered Grade stallions can cover up to 10 of their owner's mares per annum.
Licensed At this level your stallion should be competing in age classes and can cover up to 30 mares per annum.
Approved This is the maximum level of grading and usually applies to stallions competing or that have competed at an International level. Also with proven offspring. Approved Grade stallions can cover an unlimited number of mares.
Approved Elite Stallions are given Elite status subject to the judges' discretion and based on proven competition and offspring success at the highest level.

Thank you SJ FAN! Gosh did not know that they put such a restriction on the number of mares covered. I find that confusing as a lot of the stallions that have been registered above are available to the public when it says owners mares only?I suppose that can only be a good thing really.

Just thought though - My Squire Caretino has been standing at public stud this year - I'm guessing thn that the fact he is only approved at registered status would mean the foals to outside customers would be ineligible for registrationg with the AES....I guess if any come out coloured they can go down the CHAPS route...

Number 16 was a three year old bay stallion dob: 15/05/04 (So took part in the in-hand section only). By Don Primaire (Donnerhall) out of a Wolfgang mare.

Quiet a nice youngster if I remember rightly. A little green (to be expected) but a lot to like. </font>

This is the pics of him at the SHB grading!

I have to say IMO he looked alot better when I saw him earlier in the year.

Question for Amelia - is Shirley's No. 8 stallion, Chablis Z, the nice grey 3 year old she got late this summer??? I know she got a stunning grey late in season and wasn't going to be using him on any outside mare's till next year as she hadn't presented him for grading yet as we really wanted to use him on one of our mares.

I'll say!!

Zangersheide do have a stallion listed for sale earlier this year thou taht's called Chablis I Z....maybe it is him. But he is by Corrado and not Chellano Z (although Corrado's mum is a full sister to Chellano I believe)

Hi eventrider23

Shirleys grey is fabulous - I adore Contender horses and this young chap was no exception - bred by Denis Peels, this young horse had it all

.

Sadly I didnt manage to get any photos of this lovely grey - but he is on my list of stallions to use
grin.gif
and IMHO he was the best inhand stallion ! He shone in the ring with confidence, natural jumping ability and he knew it &amp; love it !!!

Well I shall definately be using him on one of the mare's next year then as I was blown away when I saw him at the yard this year and really wanted to use him before I even knew what his breeding, etc. was!!!
They seem to be getting in a few more very nice horses from the continent now at Brendon's, what with El Thuder last year and now Chablis Z....can't wait to see my 2 el thuder babies next year...one mare is looking very preggers now and still got ages to go!

I think the AES can give them a passport not sure whether the foal will be pink or white papered though. I know they can give white papers to stock of ungraded stallions, not sure about registered stallions who have covered 'outside' mares.
