So ive just found out that the Archie monster and I have qualified for our first 'thing' - the semi-finals of the Affliated Dressage Masters League. I wasnt even trying to qualify as i havent a clue about it really..........

Anyways ive decided to do the semis as im not actually competing the day they are being held.

So my question is - if he behaves himself in the semis (smaller miracles have happend) - what do i need to do to qualify for the finals?

Ive looked on the Dressage at Hickstead site and i cant seem to find anything. All i can find is that if i do qualify it will be N37 on Monday 23rd July..........

Im hoping someone like Bananaman or Dressagechick knows the answer to this one

I qualified last year but didn't compete as we sold the horse before then.
Think it was the top 6 but can't remember why I think that!

I have a feeling its the first four at the semis that qualify but im not really sure. Julie at KM did tell me ages ago but my memory is not what it was. I'm sure someone on here is more clued up than me!
I am doing the semis too cos its another chance to ride nov 22 before the regionals! So i will see you there!

Now, don't quote me on this one but as I understand it centres that are running qualifiers have a semi final for which you qualify by getting points (per placing not BD points), in the qualifying classes.
Then at the semi final the top so many go through to the final at Hickstead. I'm not sure if it's 2 or 4 that go through but your best bet is to ask the centre that's holding the semi.

H has qualified for the PSG but we've decided not to go as it's so far for us.

ive just got off the phone to Julie!! I dont really want to bug her again, as i hadnt done my entry so i phoned to check i could send in a late one which she said was fine.

Maybe its the top 4??? Seems like quite a lot tho, i dont know how many semis there are around the country?

I think you will find that there are 7 regions and that each centre can send 2 forward from each section ie. Open/Rest.

Last year two semi-finalists from our centre won at the finals and in general responses have been very good. Lots who went last year are trying to qualify this year - quite an occasion I think.

When i qualified it was the top two of each section, but i know they were still really coming up with the formulae as that was two years ago; there was much confusion then even the venues running the events could'nt give me the answer.
It really is a great competition and i very much enjoyed the comp. its worth doing especially with good young horses.I had two in the novice final, both young and they were both in the top five in the final . It gave them exposure to a big atmosphere , i hope that they get the qual. thing clearer as i would really like to do it next year with my next crop of youngsters.

I found out about this too late!! Poo!! But yes, I would def. do it, and I believe too that it is the first 2 which qualify in each section, novice/restricted...suppose to be really good... I would def. go and give up what you are doing on the date of the final ... just in case!! You never know!!!!

thank you hun!!

Well i looked on my DML form (might help!) and it says top 4 combinations. But dosent say whether its top 4 in each section or just 2 from each section. Either way i have NO hope at all in qualifying, but it will be nice to do the semis anyways
