For all those who have had their horses freezemarked what can I expect after its been done and what type of saddle pad/numnah did you use to ride in after? Do I need to buy a sheepskin one or will a normal thin cotton one do?

I had my girl done about 4 weeks ago. Had it done on her shoulder, so not the same issue with regard to riding afterwards but the advice is at least a week, if not more. The area became swollen for a few days but then nothing seemed to happen and I thought it hadn't worked! It's only in the last few days that it's started to scab over a bit in places and the letters/numbers are becoming visible.

HI FREEZEBRAND PEOPLE WILL TELL YOU HOW LONG TO LEAVE IT BEFORE YOU RIDE, THE AREA LOOKS BUMPY THEN DISAPEARS AND LOOKS LIKE NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE , THEN HAIR FALLS OUT OVER A PERIOD OF TIME THEN GROWS BACK WHITE, DOESNT HURT THE HORSE I USE ALL TYPES OF NUMNAH X

Usually you cannot ride for a week if done on the wither, then you carry on as normal with your normal saddlecloth/numnah, please do check what your Freezemarking comany recommend.

Thank you. It says 4 to 7 days on the site as its Farmkey that are doing it. Weren't sure if I'd have to buy a sheepskin pad or not. I shall be having it done under the saddle area. He's such a wuss so he might be longer before he can be ridden!!
