Have two earmarked on ebay to bid on, was telling one of the ladies on the yard tonight and she said, oh, I have one for sale if you want to try it.

Anyway, apart from being brown its perfect! 17.5 Medium Width Ideal Jessica!!!!! AND the best bit, I can have it for £100 WOO HOO

Will ride in it tomm, and if it seems OK will get the saddler to check next week!

Anyone know if you can get a saddle dyed?

Hmmm, would probably end up ruining my lovely (ebay bargain) Pikeur breeches if I dyed it!

Right, next cheap listing day on ebay, lovely Rhinegold padded comfort bridle, padded girth and stirrup leathers.

I really could'nt believe it when she said £100, she said it would be cheap so I was thinking at least double that! Its in good condition too!

I don't know about you but I always seem to cherish something I got as a bargain a bit more than if I had got it at normal price! Don't ask me where the logic is in that but it's probably that I couldn't afford to buy the real thing so to get the chance of a bargain means all the more!
We'll keep fingers crossed that it fits or can be altered properly now, good luck!

Tried it on her tonight, and it looked perfect! Its her night off tonight, so will ride her in it tomm - really wanted to try it tonight but we have a work/schooling routine and am need to stick to it with her!

Brown saddles are far nicer in my opinion, cant remember the reason now, but my grandad used to say something about black leather being dyed to hide its inferior quality. I do have 2 brown saddles and 1 black one, but the black one kind of chose my horse

if you know what I mean!

Brown tack is the best - and will go with that lovely bridle she was wearing at the Trec comp, surely? Personally I don't like all this black tack for dressage (runs and hides....)

From the olden days.... Black leather was seen as inferior and was used in harness making and brown was seen as superior and was used for riding horses. And I've got a black saddle and a brown bridle.

Nooooo don't dye it, brown is a far superior colour to black, my Albion dressage is brown, I had to order it specially, I really dislike black tack.
And Ideals are lovely dressage saddles. Lucky you!

Right, the hunt is now on for a light brown padded leather girth, stirrup leathers and bridle! I do have a nice Stubben brown bridle I can use, but like a bridle per discipline so I don't have to change bits

Was having second thoughts about having so many bridles /saddles when it took me a couple of hrs yesterday evening and a further couple this moring to clean it all!!! Still got my hackamore here to do!

May seems quite happy with new saddle, and it is sooo comfortable to ride in, am a very happy bunny now

Not that it will make a difference to our appauling dressage scores
