Age for retirement

if it was happy and healthy i would prob do some light work.
if not retired to field unless i felt i wouldt have time it needed in which case either on loan as companion or pts.
my old girl was ready to fuly retire at 36 and lived out for another 12years until she dropped weight this summer and didnt appear happy.
my ish mare was retired through injury from competition and shes happy in light work or in the field(with daughter!)
i would have to evaluate each situation.
 
Horse in my siggy has tears in the DDFT this summer, vets say 6+ months off and a 70% chance he will return to work, and he was just about to start doing 1.10s...

I dont know what Ill do if he doesnt come back into work.
