How old is tooo old to breed a mare? I've just heard of a 25 year old Shire who is expecting her fourth foal shortly. Is she too old?

If she was too old or unfit, she wouldn't have held in the first place. There are records of thoroughbreds still having foals in their very late twenties and still breeding winners. Their body will dictate if they're too old or not IMO although the owner should obviously look very carefully if it is in the mare's best interests.
