So I know this will have been asked many times before, however a lot of the info I'm finding is quite old so wanted to try and get an up to date opinion.

My part ID boy is in his mid teens and clicks quite a lot. When I first got him last year I used turmeric with oil/pepper however didn't see any noticeable results. I've since tried Codlavine but again nothing noticeable and he then decided he didn't like the taste of it , Pro Sportive TriFlex and now Cortaflex - all various recommendations from people I know.

However he has recently been having the physio out (unrelated back problems caused by dodgy saddle) and she wasn't concerned about the clicking but recommended I find a supplement that had a high % mix of Chondroitin and a low mix of Ash - neither of which can be said of the Cortaflex I'm currently feeding him! Having done a bit of googling I have found Riaflex and PremierFlex HA which both claim to be 'the best supplement' with the highest mixes of Chondroitin etc, except neither of them actually provide the % analysis on their websites. I've emailed both asking for the breakdown so I can compare, but was wondering if anyone had any first hand experiences of them or could recommend anything better? I seem to be going through tubs and tubs of various things and not getting anywhere!

Oh, and if anyone wants a nearly full tub of Cortaflex for cheap, let me know! :D

Thanks in advance :o x

I'm having great success with Yumove but it does seem not all things work with all horses. Friends found a huge improvement with Riaflex, but it did nothing for mine.

This doesn't necessarily indicate arthritis. The clicking noise you hear is the ligament snapping over bone and bubbles of gas within the joint area, and is harmless. Lots of peoples knees click when they bend down for example. Its only if the horse is lame or xrays point to their being a problem that you need to worry. Having spent a significant amount of time nerding over a spreadsheet I put together, I worked out the joint supplement with the most Chondroitin per £ (out of the 11 I looked at) is Suppleaze Gold. Works out at 83p per day (with their 3 for 2 offer on 250g pots), to give 4,000mg of Chondroitin if feeding 20g per day.

Another vote for suppleaze gold :) my girl has had joint issues all her life and it keeps her ticking along very nicely :)
