In Sweet FA, I posted of the sunshine, and my intention to go for a hack. Well. As soon as I was getting into my car, it started to rain.

Got to yard, caught pony, and put him in an empty stall to dry off and enjoy his new salt lick while I poo-picked the pony jail, thinking the rain might lessen.

And it did! So we finally went for our hack with some others. It was quite warm, so I wasn't wearing my fleecy waterproofs.

BIG MISTAKE!! At the farthest point of the hack, the rain simply bucketed down. The worst bit was definitely the water running along the pommel and into my seat. YICK!

Got back to the yard and squelchily dealt with the pony, and you know what? The d@mn SUN came out again!

And me being so wet meant I didn't stop off for my shopping on the way home, so I'm still out of loo rolls and milk for my coffee.

I had a hack like that once did not know if I should laugh or cry. We had boxed up to the forest the only dry things in the car where my OH pizza express t.shirt and chefs whites. So changed into them in the trailer, loaded horse holding bottoms up. Friend I was with who was 16 put my daughters top on age 13, then sat on a platic bag all the way home - never again!

Well I will rant as well
Grazing under 3feet of water and looking out at flooded fields including crops
Horses and sheep out in just over an acre between them and it is still rising and throwing heavy showers a bit like April with sun in between.
RC WH cancelled tomorrow and no dates left in local calendar to re-arrange

Just had my tea (without milk

), and 12 cookies. Feel slightly better inclined towards the world, but am still shivering.

The pony, needless to say, was not bothered by any of this. One of the other horses spent the worst of the hack going sideways to keep her bum into the rain, but he seemed reasonably happy. Strange creature!

Agh, yes, that sounds like the pony jail ATM. The rest of the fields aren't too bad at the moment, but is this ever going to stop?

I hate the weather today

As soon as I got finished work I thought I would go lunge before the rain came, got home and it started raining. Eventually stopped so decided to fetch the horse in got half way down the field and the heavans opened I was soaked to the bone, the horse was an arse to bring in because he hates rain and we were walking into it.

Brought him in and dried him off thought I would just spend some time with him and neaten him up a bit. As soon as it had dried off enough for me to feel safe enough to lunge him took him out and it started again

Since then we have had another serious down pour but right now it is nice and sunny - typical!

Poor you, where are you? we still haven't had any rain for months (down south) it actually started to 'nearly' rain this morning, I thought YES! the grass will finally get some water and turn from yellow to green again but it stopped about 3 seconds after it started - still waiting ....

Crikey sounds terrible and certainly no laughing matter if grazing and crops are under water. We havn't had any proper rain for weeks and weeks. Our grass is brown and the ground is like concrete. We were forecast very heavy showers today, what did we get? nothing, nada

we really need some so send it down south please!!

I am ranting too. Six weeks with hardly a drop of rain. Paddocks grazed to cracked earth. Flies and temperatures 25-33deg unbearable.

Breakfasts at 7.00am and I finish mucking out at 8.00pm. Even resorted to m/o in my knickers hoping would not have any visitors.

Let us swap the weather.
