My parents have a two year old labradoodle, who I walk quite a bit.....he is quite typical of the cross I think in that he is prone to naughtiness!! Very clever but lacks focus, not particularly loyal (ie adores everyone, but no-one in particular), very interested in other dogs and his recall skills are a constant battle.

I think a big part of the problem is that he's too clever for his own good. He is quite big - bigger than a normal lab, with long legs - pretty fast, brilliant swimmer and jumps anything in his way (garden fence, stable doors on ocassion....)

So am thinking of taking him to agility classes. I've never been before - tips? Is he likely to be a suitable dog? Will it help improve his focus? Is one class a week enough?

Any general advice would be appreciated

i used to do it with a boxer cross i had it is so much fun,
that dog also had obedience problems but agility helped
she was terrible when i took her to classes almost had to rugby tackle her to get her to sit,
but she loved agility

Am in Essex - I think my nearest club is Brentwood. Have heard mixed reviews but it looks to have good agility facilities.

Thanks all.....he is currently getting over gastroentiritus so it might be another week before we go.
