As title really. Does anyone use these? Just off to Google them. They're supposed to be all natural and molasses free etc. Wondered if anyone had any experience /info.

I've used the aspero chaff. Horses loved it, really soft and free flowing, lasts for AGES. Only switched back to Alfa oil for the calories but have a bag on standby to go back to :)

I like them/the concept

My old boy won't eat either the museli or the cobs so he is on GWF no starch Fibregest

My mare won't eat the cobs either and she is usually the equine equivalent of a Labrador when it comes to food. She eats the museli fine, but not with great gusto and leaves the black lumpy bits in it

My mare loved the wiesencobs .. But found my local feedshop had trouble getting regular deliveries from them so switched to something easier to get hold of!

I like the idea, I'd love to try it and I can get hold of it easily

The thing that is making me hesitate is that i understand its imported and the idea of the food miles doesn't sit right with me

I'm no huge environmentalist but its not like there are not molasses free feeds in the UK they just arent as pretty or well marketed

I'm using the weisencobs with musli (adding linseed & balancer to it). My fussy cob absolutely loves it and no longer turns up his nose to the added minerals :)

Lots of choice.

My tb has been on wisencobs for about 6 months but he has stopped eating it recently.
I think it could be due to me mistaking buying the wrong suppliment which smells strong and he won't eat.
(normally use pro balance but bought pro mineral by mistake!)
I've ordered some Agrobs museli and mash to try him on and I now have a new pack of the correct supplement!
So I will try him again with the wisencobs and could mix with the museli.

I have a supplier near near and they deliver!

Oh and they love the treats!

Have a right fussy beast and the aspero has been amazing for getting him to eat everything up :). The guinea pigs also really like it. I think they both prefer the museli but neither need that currently!
I have had no issues with supply, though aware of the issues I do make sure I get some more well before I run out.

The treats are also amazing.
And the G.pigs love the grass blocks they do (Frank doesn't get them I think he'd destroy them very rapidly!)

smellsofhorse who is your supplier? As mum is near you :).

My cob has the Meadow Cobs mixed with a plain Timothy chaff and my old boy has the Senior Mash, Musli and Aspero chaff. I also give them the Meadow Kisses treats. I find the feeds very economical - the Cobs absorb a lot of water so a little goes a long way. I don't have a local supplier so I order from Red Rufus - 4 bags with free delivery. I know they did have supply probs but hopefully they have been ironed out now.

I used the Aspero too which he ate.

I use these in Ringwood.

Edited to say sorry!
I've not updated my location.
I live in the New Forest now.

If you contact the main company
Red Rufus, they will put you in touch with a supplier.

My tb is on fetura as there wasn't enough in her current feed and she just was missing somethin . It makes such a difference. I am going to move from copra onto the cobs too , been really impressed by the feed. She's also not on much turnout so I like that she's getting some of the outside in the inside!

I just ordered the Aspero a few days ago, it is being delivered today along with some samples to try. I was trying to find an alternative to rye based grass chaffs but their other products sound good too.

Hmmmm maybe it's because I'm up in Scotland but it's a nightmare to get hold of! Personally wasnt that fussed on it because of that. Also the mash needs made up fresh each time so didn't suit me as on a big yard and brute often fed before I get there

I wouldn't be feeding it if I couldn't get it about 20 mins away, and stock up - 3 last me quite a long time. I was previously using just grass from D+H as it isn't just ryegrass though the aspero definitely goes down better. Also they are a lovely size/shape for stacking.

I use Musli, Aspero and Weisencobs. I mix Musli and Aspero so that the Musli lasts longer and feed the cobs soaked for breakfast. The cobs aren't as tasty as she would like but she does eat them, it's enough to line her stomach. She loves the Musli and Aspero.

Another horse that is on Agrobs is old with rubbish teeth and not a good doer, his diet consists of at least 80% Senior with a bit of hay if he feels energetic. He's looking good.

The place I get it from is about 20mins away (in West central Scotland)-its an excuse for me to go to a different feed store :D than the local one which is very old fashioned in its horse feed (ie everything is molassed alfalfa).

I am feeding the cobs, muesli and aspero to three of them (only one gets much muesli as the others dont really need it, they all love it though). Initial outlay is pricey but it lasts very well. They are all doing well on it and the one that has more muesli is very picky with bucket feed-loves this stuff though. None of mine are in much work right now though, their feet are all great (all get Pro-Hoof and varying amounts of linseed).

I'm a die hard Thunderbrook fan, however, one of mine has been a bit poorly and as a result of medication, went right off her feed - rather unlike her as she is a piglet!
I bought her a bag of mash and she goes mad for it, its got her eating again and we are now back to a lower ration of mash and back on the Thunderbrooks.

I like the 'clean' way of feeding you get with both Agrobs and Thunderbrooks.

I have tried the muesli and LeichtGenuss and none of our horses like it, one is a cob who eats anything usually. So its back to an feeding more locally produced British feed!

Ah bum, there do seem to be a few that just don't dig it! Most of the yard use it now as our local feedshop stocks it and delivers it to us.

I love the look, smell, idea of it, but my horses all said "No Thanks - we'd rather starve". Admittedly that was just the Leichtgenuss. I'm a bit loath to fork out on the Aspero if they turn their noses up at that too. They spurned Thunderbrooks chaff as well.

funny isn't it, my Exmoors turned their noses up at the Thunderbrooks-has never happened before (one will eat my hair if I stand still long enough!). I've stopped feeding the Aspero-seemed redundant. Ponies get the cobs, foreign one yes cobs and muesli. The amount I feed they last for ages although I know theres been supply problems up here with the UK distributor.

Mine loves it! Hes surprisingly fussy for a little fat cob. He eats anything, but things like fast fibre have him pulling faces in disgust. I get it delivered. Its free if you order 4 bags, and I think I paid £5 to get 2 delivered.

I got samples of the Aspero, Musli and Weisencobs. The non fussy Tb loved all of them but tbh he would eat the plastic bag they came in if I let him. The very fussy Tb wouldn't touch the Aspero, quite liked the cobs but announced the Musli was the best thing ever. In fact atm when they have recently moved onto summer grazing, it's the only thing he will eat to carry his supplements.

However the musli has oil and seeds and veg (parnsip, beetroot, carrots) so is more calorific and higher in sugars, albeit natural ones, than some people might want.

I order direct so no problems getting hold of it. I do understand the concern about transport but as it's the product of particular local conditions that are not necessarily available here, I'm not sure the equivalent exists and at least is closer than the copra which I feed alongside which comes from Papua new guinea.

Well, after a trial period I'll be sticking with it for a while. Fussy, wimpy tb loves the soaked weisencobs and muesli and polishes his bucket now. Eat anything ponies are looking well on minuscule amounts of same.
The cobs soak up more water than beet pulp, so I'm careful to make sure they are fully soaked before feeding.
