We have sadly found ourselves at a standstill where very few of our dogs are being booked for homes as of the last month. This of course has effects on the running of AHAR.
It means we can’t bring any new dogs in and the adoption fees that help pay the every day bills to keep us open cease to exist.
We still have a lot of dogs that were not sponsored or did not reach their target.
We don’t ever have spare funds to survive a quiet phase like this so our team had to make the decision of closing our doors for one week and see can we raise the funds we need to reduce our growing every day bills.
Sorry to everyone who wanted to surrender your dogs. We have to put you on our waiting list for the moment.
We will continue to share all our dogs who are not booked in the hope to find them homes and if you can help with our fundraising. We would be very grateful.
If anyone would like to help. You can message us on our page or make a donation through pay pal.
Let’s hope we will rise again after a hard weeks fundraising and loads of our dogs get booked for homes.
Thank you all again for your constant support.
Love Suzanne and the team xx

Even now AHAR wont tell their supporters the truth hardly surprising as its not something they have done before.

I read the link but it seems to relate to last year and current inspections on welfare have been either good or satisfactory?

The thing is it has been proven they were posting deceptive posts, lies actually, to con donators into giving money.
AHAR were pre arranging vanloads of dogs- often 20 or 30- to meet them at fairs then taking the dogs after they had possession of them to varying locations around the fair and posting pictures at intervals throughout the day with pleas for donations to buy them.
A similar scam was used with horses until an RTE investigation stopped them.
In one instance they actually posted a picture of a dead donkey in front of a blazing fire together with a mocked-up drip with appeals for money to 'save him'.

They now have a CRA regulator and Andrew Kelly from the ISPCA on the board which wont go down well and the CRA can appoint others if they want. Considering there are 2 members of the same family on the board and another as an employee it was hardly impartial before and a massive conflict of interest.

They have been pulled up and have to stop travelling dogs with open wounds ie spay which has caused huge welfare concerns.
