ok sorry for posting in here but i really need some advice. it was going ok until i came home the other week and found that he had mud fever badly. We are using keratex mud powder, but obviously its not working. I desperately need something to prevent it and to cure it-any suggestions?I dont want it to keep getting worse. we hibiscrub them once a week but i know some people think this does more bad than good?

Only thing I have found that works is a new product from www.mudfever.net. You don't need to wash the legs at all - just leave the mud to dry and then brush it off and then apply this spray (they were doing free samples) - other people on this forum have also used it this year with great success. It really is the best thing I have found.

Jay2, thanks for post have ordered as both my boys got it and on Tues and Weds dn have time to exercise so have to go in muddy field!! Fingers crossed.

nb. my college uses Sudocream as barrier and coolant but keep horses in when affected.

Have found the solution, unfortunately they don't sell half of the ingredients anymore as banned by the EU but you may still have some and if not then the other half works alone but slower.... 'Dermobion' (the banned part) plus 'hoof to heel'. Works like a charm!!

Hi. Had vet out last week he told me to use liquid parrafin with dettol in. Is water proof with Antiseptic. Make sure leg are clean and try then apply , the mud and wet just slides off.
