ok so when i went up to see Zakkie at 8 this morning, i found him with his stable rug (weatherbeeta 300 combo) half on the floor. The main part of the rug had completely come off, and he was standing on it, but the neck part was still on him, and was quite tight as obviously he was pulling it down by standing on it!god that could have turned out nasty. The rug didnt have one tear or scratch, and he was just happily standing there, not fussed. He just looked a little guilty. Am very lucky he is so chilled out with that sort of thing. could have been a big disaster. have no idea how he managed to do it!have a theory; i didnt put much bedding down for once so he thought hey!ill just lay it down as a blanket for me to sleep on!!the belly straps had just come undone. not impressed. however have put stoppers on now so will not happen again. sorry this is so long!!

Oopsie! I have one who takes his rug off if he is too hot......and then when I come on the scene, he frantically tries to pick it up and put it back on again!

Where did you get the little rubber bits from? I could do with some of them as although they came with my rugs, some of them have perished in the extreme cold over here.

ah mine came with the rug, but i took them off at first(stupid me!) cos it was hard to do up!!(and it was pretty tight so didnt think they would undo themselves!)but you can get them from anywhere pretty much,i.e robinsons etc. your local tack shop(if u have one)should stock them
