I have just had my brain blown by reading up too much bit information, what bit would people suggest?
I have a 16.3hh tb x racehorse who is 4 (she only raced for 9 races), she pulls on the bit but she does respond most of the time, she isn't silly or fast but can lengthen her stride in trot to speed away in a hack which can take a few attempts to slow down, leaving her 13.3hh friend far behind. She is fantastic in canter and gallop and will happily pull up in any situation. She is simular in school. She also sticks her nose out typical racehorse style so would like her to improve her head carrage as I know she would look lovely :)

She is currently in a simple eggbutt snaffle.

You should not depend on your bit to stop her poking her nose out. As said above, this is achieved by correct schooling. Teaching her to engage her hind quarters, work over her back etc.
I would say you are fine in your snaffle; i personally ride in a french link hanging cheek snaffle. I love my bit.

It can be a long hard road with an ex racer, but very achievable, good luck! :)

I agree, sounds like a schooling issue. If she's in a single jointed try a French link, & / or a loose ring or sweet iron if you think she might prefer different but I'd just be looking at different snaffles if you really think she needs a change.

Agree on the schooling 100%

However i prefer loose ring snaffles in general as horses can lean and fix on an eggbut as the bit is quite fixed in the mouth, whereas a loose ring is movable & harder for the horse to lean & fix on :)
