"PLEASE SHARE! Fellow vets and other pet-loving pals, it is with VERY great sadness that I can confirm that the Animal Health Trust, our much loved charity, is going into liquidation, IF a rescue package is not found in the next week. Any fairy godmothers out there, please apply here! Nearly 150 distraught employees of the small animal referral hospital are out of a job as well as countless others involved in the equine unit, MRI unit, cancer centre, and the ground breaking AHT genetic testing and clinical research. A uniquely special charity which I personally believe should have been given better protection a long time ago. Thank you to those vets who supported us by referring your clients - no corporate kick backs from us for doing so, but hopefully a warm feeling for you and your clients knowing that all the profit was going towards clinical research and improved animal welfare. It has been an absolute privilege to work at the AHT, the staff are incredible, very dedicated to the provision of excellent clinical care to their patients and owners alike. Also a supportive and kind family to each other and keen to help their referring vets. Many have worked there for years, some decades, on lower than normal salaries, for the love of their animal charges and loyalty to the cause. A very sad loss for the veterinary profession. PLEASE SHARE!"
Reading on, seems they lost their jobs yesterday, the social media hasn't been updated, so nothing on the website which will be apparently updated next week.
I'm struggling to understand this, was anyone else here aware?
