Aims for the Summer???

To get my Oscar happy in his hocks and back in work (Vet out in two hours to start treatment!!!) get as many lessons as I can to get us both back in the swing of things and then get back to the dressage.
Also want to make as good a job as I can of the wee highland we have for schooling as her owner is so lovely and deserves a nice horse.
To get our own highland sound again as she has been off for six months now and she is not a happy chick.
And to help my friend to get her two back out eventing after having to miss the start of the season.

Ah good post V!

I have lots - but little ones.....there's no point in being unrealistic - you can always "up" the aim/goal if necessary

With new boy I'd like to: be getting some good scores in some nov tests and STICK at regular training

WIth Old boy i'd like to: see him less "blimp" like and maybe do a couple of veteran classes

Hmmm
More lesson esp flat work as i tend to avoid them and potter about or jump.Get horse out more - do an intro Bsja maybe with the aim of doing lots of proper bsja next year.
Sort out the issues he has with stressing in the lorry/standing still at shows etc so that i can enjoy things more instead of stressing out

To get new horse out to some dressage and unaff. showjumping and then to start BSJA on him at the end of the summer, and to do well on my pony at trailblazers finals as it will be the last time i ride him competitively before we loan him

My aims with Blue are:

To do ok at the County Show in the showing classes and not look a total prat

To get back into my jumping (not done much lately) and get out and do some .85m-1m classes

To maybe be brave and have a go at some small XC jumps at some stage!

I want to get Maiden to the point where she is starting to be ridden out for 10-15 mins a day by the end of the summer. Don't tell her, she'll only go lame again!
Berlin and I are aiming to get out doing some local unaff dressage, and as a distant and probably silly aim I'd love to do a novice test on him as well.
I want to have a few more lessons on my boss's schoolmaster types, and also on her mechanical horse whcih should be interesting!
As for me, I want to graduate with a 2:1 (eep, I hope

), get a good job, earn some money, buy a new horse, and get out doing things again!
I'm not overly hopeful about doing any of that stuff as I have awful bad luck most of the time, but I need to have something to aim for just in case!

My aims for the summer:

1. Get my new horse to stand still while I get on (take 1 minute instead of up to 15 mins)- the other problems are fixed and her ridden work is coming on nicely

2. Get her jumping round a small course at home - so far we are only doing individual jumps as she is not balanced enough

2. Get out to some small SJ competitions by end August

3. Do at least 1 cross country schooling session
