Ainsdale Beach

Yep.you drive the trailer on wagon on at Pontins or further up by Victoria Park, personally I prefer pontins because it is usually easier to park. A big piece of advice if you are going at the weekend and the weather is glorious go very early because it gets absolutely heaving. I used to go down and paddle my old JA every morning in the summer to keep her legs in good condition.
A nice alternative is to go down to Lifeboat RD in Formby you can get on to the beach or ride around the bridlepaths in the dunes. If you need any more info give me a shout!

Yep ditto stinkbomb, they charge to park, i think it was couple of quid when we went last year, we went mid week so it was quiet, and they tend to send you right down to the end so youre out the way. We had fab day my neice had her first canter there.

planning to go again when my neice visits in July (brother relocated to Ireland but pony still with me cause theyve not found anywhere to keep him, just hoping she hasn't grown out of him too much)

It is £1 to park on Ainsdale beach but when you drive onto the sand make sure you stay on the hard sand and out of the soft sand.

I lost concentration and drove into the soft sand and had to be towed.. doh!

I prefer Formby point too - they charge you more, but it being a national trust beach means the big sand buggies etc aren't allowed. It's easier to escape the masses too
