I very much doubt that any independent centre would have the obscene amount of money spent on them as appears to be awash at Local government schemes. ( Has everybody forgotten just how corrupt Liverpool City Council is?)
Sorry but I find it incredulous that people are so short sighted to think that a riding centre can be run as an international venue for hosting shows and conferences and at the behest of a government grant.

Long story, goes back over 20 years and is no different today, but it really winds me up that there is a 'limitless' pot for council projects but nothing for the poor buggers who have worked their ass off for years with little or no help from government!

Don't think the centre was funded from Liverpool City Council (Aintree racecourse is in Sefton anyway rather than Liverpool), might have North West Development Agency funding though.

It was the 2008 comittee, which is Liverpool CC run!

have to agree liverpool city council have never done anything but make life difficult for equestrians also aintree had their first scheduled dressage comp cancelled last month due to unforsene circumstances

Hang on - this centre has nothing to do with Liverpool Council, this centre is controlled by the jockey club !

Also Aintree is in SEFTON, which is SEFTON council not Liverpool, and i think some people on here need to stop being so negative about Aintree International Arena (wonder why that is ????)

The reason why the show was cancelled was because of the SUMMER POPS !!!
