For anyone who lives, works or even just drives through Yorkshire the air ambulance is always on hand to provide rapid response emergency care for anyone unfortunate enough to be injured.
But, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance is funded entirely by donations.
By chance, myself, and Gamebird are both completing challenges this summer to raise money for the YAA. Gamebird is walking the Coast to Coast, and I am walking the Lyke Wake Walk. I can't speak for Gamebird, but I am no walker, and today (wednesday) I am still sore from the 18 miles we did on Sunday!
Any donation that you can spare is incredibly gratefully received. I for one have seen too many accidents where the air ambulance has been called, and where, without them, the person concerned would not be here to tell the tale today. I would hate to think that someone died or has to spend the remainder of their life unable to enjoy it because such a worthwhile cause is unsupported by us (or for that matter, the Government, but that's a different issue!)
