Overwhelmed
So much of this is personal preference. I tried an EXO cage before they were discontinued and I was sure that the weight and rigidity of it would make it more likely that I would fall if I got unbalanced. I think that the Hit Air has weak spots in areas where I don't want them but accept that people like the coverage it has in other areas. I loathe wearing a body protector (constriction, weight, sweat) so even if it did give better protection than an air jacket I wouldn't wear one hacking or schooling. But it isn't "better", it's just different.
Horses for courses, but if buying an air jacket do check the warranty and servicing unless you're price insensitive and don't mind that your air bag is as old as the jacket outer instead of a maximum of as old as your last service.
