This has just come up on the Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue facebook page and I know a few people on here have an interest or may know someone who does .

With huge regret : Alfie the Alaskan Malamute is for rehome from home THROUGH NO FAULT OF HIS OWN.

He is 6 years old and a 5th generation pedigree. We have all relevant paperwork from birth.
We are a young family with a baby and another on the way, and whilst Alfie is hugely important to us he would, we believe, be happier in a more mature home with a slightly older family, He is calm and relaxed in the typical manner of an older dog and does not pull on the lead, yap or jump up.
He is a big boy at about 65kg and stands very tall aswell.
As such he does need a daily walk or two, but not too excessively during hot weather.
He lived with another female dog for the beginning of his life and was completely fine with her and has many doggy friends of all shapes and sizes. Despite his large size he is a gentle giant and has never bitten or nipped.
He loves the cold weather and in summer will spend time inside (in the coldest place e,g tiled floor) and he has a double coat and does shed some each day. This can be lessened by regular brushing with a good stiff brush (he will let you do this.)
Alfie is loyal and protective and would be suited to a family with older children. He is left for up to 6 hours at a time due to work commitments but is not destructive, he usually watches Top Gear in the living room.
100% house trained, neutered and had his jabs and is healthy, live and kicking.
He is truly a wonderful dog and it is heartbreaking to see him go, but we want nothing more than to see him with his forever family. He is a commitment, but slots into family life easily, is admired by many and is very loving.

This was the exact situation that our new addition was... 6 year old malamute whose family had a baby, luckily for nula her owners rehomed her direct from them via amruk so she wasnt in any rescue kennels getting stressed. I hope he finds the home he deserves, they are a truly fab breed and the 3 I have had have been much easier to manage etc than people expect them to be.
