Hi, this may sound like a daft question but i have a my boy in a medium wide Albion K2 jumping saddle which fits him very well. I know the Albion sizing is generally on the ungenerous size as he is only a medium in some other makes. I am thinking of getting an Albion dressage saddle (possibly from ebay or similar) and was wondering if the sizing for the dressage saddle would be much the same as my jump. Does anyone use both on their horses? i suppose it may differ a bit with the model of saddle too!? Thanks in advance for any help! :)

Our little TB mare has a K2 for jumping and an Albion Genesis Dressage saddle. They are both Medium, but the Genesis is 17.5'' and the K2 is 17''. So widthwise, I would say they must come up about the same. Not sure why the length suited her better slightly longer in the Genesis..May have more to do with my daughter's little legs.

I have a K2 jumping and have had an SLK dressage and now have a Legend Dressage saddle. They are all the same size, 17.5MW. Having read the above thread I would agree that I could do with 18" dressage saddle as it is small in the seat (deeper I guess) but then it would be too big for my horse.

i have a 17" MW Albion Style, a 17.5" MW K2 GP and a 17.5" Medium K2 Jump so who knoes! I think they should all be the same but I think my MW's have been stuffed up a bit and the Medium not so much if that makes sense as they all appear to fit!

B had an Albion Kontrol in MW and an Albion SL dressage also in MW, they were both 17", theywere both supplied 2nd hand by the same saddler, already initially set up for him from a template so its hard to say whether they would have fitted if I had just bought them from ebay.

My boy was described as MW when I bought him but my Albion XC Med saddle fits him fine but I did have to have it reflocked to suit him better. Its a 17.5 inch and looks good on him - he is 16.3hh. I have recently bought a 2nd hand Albion Legend 5000 dressage saddle - Med 17.5 inch. Width wise it fits him fine, but when girthed up it drops a fraction low but a thick sheepskin half pad has sorted that. Size wise I think I would be better off with an 18 inch - the seat comes up a fraction short but for what we're doing right now its just fine. Hope that helps.
