Hi there,
Following on from Foraday's post about the break in at Boxworth, Cambridgeshire, I'd like to post details about the saddle I lost. It's as above, and has been stamped on the left hand flaps HH60 . This is a unique stamp put on by the saddler who sold it to me, the saddle is approx 1-2 years old, I bought it second hand 3 weeks ago. So for anyone out there who is buying a cheap saddle without an original purchase receipt please do consider the fact that it is probably stolen and your gain is someone else's loss. I do know that when these saddles are passed on they sometimes have their leathers/irons and numnahs still on, so if anyone does come across a saddle that sounds like mine, it had a black rolled leather balance strap attached to the d rings (13inches long), stainless steel stubben 4 3/4inch stirrup irons with white treads and black 48inch stubben leathers, the kind with the blue stud on the end. I've got short legs so I punched two extra holes in the top. I know that's lots of information, but if it stops just one more stolen saddle from being sold on then I'll sleep that tiny bit better.
Thanks for taking the time to read, and if anyone can offer any information at all please do pm me.
