Went to Aldon PN yesterday for first run of the season. Nice to be back out. Picked up Lec on the way and arrived in good time.
Warmed up for dressage ok felt really rusty and a bit surreal. Did crap test rode rubbish and although we scored 30, we had a very generous judge as all the scores in the section were low.
Sj - well as Lec will testify I was ridiculously nervous and sat like a total passenger but Charmy was totally honest and jumped around clear with no help from me

XC - had a wicked ride she didn't even feel like she was going to stop at anything but I had a very blonde moment and jumped over the novice fence at the water and managed to once again get a big fat E

So all in all nice to be back out. Totally shattered as dashed back to work last night and worked most of today. Lots of work on but lots to be pleased about.
Can someone give me a brain please?
Would like to say big thanks to Luce for helping me. Amazing how much easier it is to ride XC with shorter pedals and longer spurs,

Spotty Cat for the schooling session in the pouring rain last week and Coed Cae for the boots

I'm going to be more organised for the next one. Brushing mud off her at the event is not the best. Work is going to come 2nd

I hope the wether was better for you than it was here...
Your dressage score was good and at least she jumped the Novice water....

Never mind, you'll never make that same mistake again I bet!
Not that bad a start to the season I reckon, all you need to do is remember the course next time

I think Charm has improved tremendously from last year - this year she looks like she wants to do it. Belmont should hold no fear for you now!

Oh you nellie!
But what a great score in the dressage and clear sjing.
TE is better than an E for refusals. Dont worry hon, this will give you a boost for the next one hon.

they should have massive lsd lit signs flashing lol, tbh though the little squares usually faded/discoloured they use to direct you to your fence become blurred and could be anything when travelling at speed towards em, have very nearly jumped the wrong fence due to this, even though i had walked the course!!
