Well we didn't win or anything haha.
Trot-up on fri morning bright and early, Sula looking lovely and is passed.. Helen (Sula's owner) is almost in tears for pride in her beloved pony, who at the start of the season looked a mile off even aff. BE eventing, let alone a 3day (due to brain and soundness problems)...
On to dressage.. now there's a fairly strange story to go with this.. first and foremost, i thought we'd blown it!! Trot work at the start was nice, but onto the first canter and Sula was in wind-up toy mode.. i came out feeling like we'd get a 45 ish, so was pleasently surpirsed to see we were given a 39.. BUT now for the interesting bit, on reading the two test sheets, judge 1 gave us a score of 159 (good score) but judge 2 gave us a score of 139 (crap) and her reasons for said crap marks were "changing legs several times in both canters" But she never did!!!!! Fairenough, she didn't go well in the canter, but she marked us down for something we didn't do!!!
XC day, Sula's forte!!
She may never be destined for anything more than PN, but boy does she make it feel good.. to keep it short, she gave me the ride of my life!!
Clear with in the time
My one complaint would be that the time was FAR too easy!!! On both the chase and the XC.. there were some people who were over a min inside the time! (which i think i could have been if i didn't start pulling up at the second last fence)
Sunday, trot-up, and she passed again
ShowJumping.. ground was good, IF, you had studs in, now Sula doesn't have front studs, so it was like an ice rink! (will see if i can post vid. she is flat on her nose round one corner)
anyway, regardless of the ground, SJing wouldn't be her strong point, and we had 2 down, but regardless of that, we still pulled up the order after XC.
We were 41st after dressage.
30th after XC
and i 'think' 28th after SJing.
So all in all a FAB weekend!!
And not forgetting a HUGE thankyou to BBs.. sat in the 10 min box watching everyone at work, i deffo felt i had the best support team!!
And BBs, don't be silly, when you're doing it next year, you're support team will be just as good, mum agrees, we'll all be there to help you!!!
(i've also just shown her the vid of Nobby
and mum is also now green with envy)
THANKS AGAIN
