Well we made it to the first BE event of the season and completed in one piece.

Rags did a bit of a tense dressage but was still generously marked with 34.5 which we were very pleased with.

SJ Rags still believes he ought to be going at XC pace. When he eventually listens he going to improve but galloping at the first fence was not a good start. We had 2 down, it was quite a small course so hopefully as they get bigger he will have more respect.

XC he was ace, bold and forwards finishing 30 seconds inside the time without trying. He is the best horse for water I have ever had just leaps in.

Out of the rosettes with 2 down but great promise for next time and hopefully a swift move up to Novice in time for the Pavo classes.

Cool, well done! Have you BSJA'd him over the winter? Is he better at that? Couple of years ago Deco had 3 down at Aldon, and she was normally very reliable, it was just the excitement of being outdoors again and hearing loudspeakers! Is sarnie doing her stuff tomorrow?

Well done thats great! Good luck for next time

Well done Sarah.
You must be delighted with him, he sounds such a fun xc horse.
You were in a strong section too, so it was unfortunate to have 2 down.

Where are you next with him?

Yes he has been jumping clear Disco indoors it doesn't help being outside!

Sarni has this weekend off I am not a lover of the going at Aldon particularly on some of the back tracks in the Intermediate. Looking at it today I am glad I didn't enter. She will start at Gatcombe next w/e.

I saw you ride past twice today but did not have time to stop and say hello!
Well done sounds like a good start.

Belmont (despite swearing I would never go again) and then Pontispool Novice hopefully. All subject to whether he sells or not will have a concerted effort at some point.

Well done!!

Have i also seen a pic of you on Rags at last Oct. Aldon on the back page of the BE mag??

So how many more PN runs do you hope for before he goes Novice?

Not that I have spotted - which one?

Hopefully one more run PN mybe 2 we will see - what about sqeak?

not sure, can't deciede.. he's in at Belmont, depends on maybe another one or two after that.. although he's falling over PN hight, he isn't confidant enough esp. with the stering to move up a level jsut yet..

The pic has been used in the Horse Quest add.

I agree with you I want a few more PN runs as I think the xc is almost there but the SJ still needs sharpening despite getting clears at Discovery! Somehow my 17.1hh put 2 strides in a 1 stride double today and cleared them both!

Sorry S_j- the above post was meant for LEC's Aldon post I got them muddled up!

Anyway, sounds as though Rags was a star- if you keep him you'll have him catch up with Sarnita before you know it I think!

Would be nice but my main problem is can't afford to run them both at a high ish level. I am working all hours God sends now and the lottery numbers are just not coming up!
