He's got his bestest girl back!

He met her at a previous yard, and they were inseparable, absolutely adored each other. I felt really mean moving him and separating them. But - 6 months on, and her owner has decided to retire her, so this morning, she came to live with us.

I didnt tell Alf, so his first inkling that he was getting his girl back was when we led her out to the field. He stood there, peering at her through the driving rain - then realised it was her, and cam e charging across the field whinnying at her!

They are grazing side by side, and he is jealously protecting her from the other two. Very sweet to watch!

So lovely, wish I could pair my mare up with her one true love, he's a friends elderly gelding and they were inseparable last summer, when I came back to the area this year and rode past his field they both screamed at each other in delight. Unfortunately he needs lots and lots of food and a nice flat field and she needs one blade of grass at Christmas and a hill to run up and down on, so it just won't work.
